Dr. Matala received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville in 2008. She completed her internship at Dorothea Dix Hospital on the forensic pretrial unit conducting evaluations regarding defendants' capacity to stand trial. She has been licensed as a psychologist with the state of North Carolina since 2009. Her specialties include forensic interviewing of children and forensic evaluations. She is passionate about the prevention and remediation of child maltreatment. She is a member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.
